Senator Ravshanbek Alimov is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism.
Before being elected as a representative to the Parliament in 2020, he had built an extensive career in international and economic relations. Throughout different periods, Alimov had been the Head of the Department for bilateral and multilateral cooperation with CIS Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2018-2020), Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2001-2002), Head of the Department of Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations (2000), Head of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018).
Alimov served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to France (2005-2008) and Ambassador to Ukraine (2002-2005), as well as the Deputy Chief of the Mission/ Political Counsellor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow (2011-2018).
Besides, he held positions of the Consultant at the Office of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1997-2000) and Chief Specialist of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister (2000-2001).
Alimov was a research fellow at the Georgetown University (1999) where he conducted a research on international trade and foreign investments. He has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Engineering from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (1990), as well as Master of Science in Economics from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1997).
He has the diplomatic rank of the 1st class Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
