COPENHAGHEN, 14 August 2012 – OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Treasurer and Special Representative for South East Europe Roberto Battelli will lead the OSCE PA election observation mission for the parliamentary elections in Montenegro on 14 October.

Battelli, a member of the Slovenian parliament, led the last election observation mission to Montenegro in 2009. Those parliamentary elections met almost all international commitments and standards according to the OSCE's assessment.

OSCE PA President Riccardo Migliori officially announced Battelli's appointment in a letter sent on 10 August. An experienced election observer, Battelli most recently led the OSCE PA election observation to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in June 2011.
