ROME, 28 November, 2012 – OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Riccardo Migliori met yesterday with United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Director-General José Graziano da Silva at the headquarters of the United Nations agency specializing in achieving food security and food quality for all the world's populations by increasing agricultural productivity and the economic growth of the world's poorest populations.
President Migliori and Director-General da Silva agreed that food security and conflict prevention are inseparably linked, and envisaged developing dialogue and cooperation between the OSCE and FAO. President Migliori noted that it would be possible to establish a channel of communication and cooperation between the OSCE General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, and FAO.
