ROME, July 27, 2012 -- Riccardo Migliori, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe), met in Rome last night the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Martynov.

During the meeting, they discussed the international observation of the parliamentary elections in Belarus on 23 September, in which the OSCE PA will participate. President Migliori welcomed the invitation from the Belarusian Assembly for the OSCE election observation to be carried out without limitation, hoping that the 23 September vote will register significant progress on the democratic process and human rights with respect to recent elections in the country. Minister Martynov assured that the Belarusian Government will guarantee that international observation missions will be able to carry out their duties in a free manner.
