David Stögmüller speaks at the OSCE Chairpersonship event in Skopje, 14 November 2023.SKOPJE, 14 November 2023 – Members of the OSCE PA Network of Young Parliamentarians participated today in the Youth Forum hosted by the OSCE 2023 Chairpersonship of North Macedonia in Skopje. Under the theme “Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Creating a Sustainable Future in the OSCE Region,” the forum brought together young entrepreneurs from across the OSCE region to explore innovative solutions addressing social and environmental issues within their communities.
The OSCE PA Network of Young Parliamentarians was represented by David Stögmüller (Austria), Chair of the Network, Aleksander Stokkebø (Norway), Vice-Chair of the Network and Iskren Mitev (Bulgaria), Member of the Network.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Network hosted a side event titled “Youth-Led Innovations and Entrepreneurship in Shaping Parliamentary Agendas,” aiming to discuss and develop a set of recommendations on how young individuals can collaboratively engage with parliamentarians in policy development, stimulate synergy between young entrepreneurs, innovators, and lawmakers, and generate actionable ideas for integration into parliamentary agendas.
Aleksander Stokkebø, Vice-Chair of the Network, commented on the event, stating, “Our side event discussions generated many innovative ideas for effective policy advocacy and empowering young entrepreneurs to influence decisions by building strong relationships with legislators and presenting their cases effectively.”
During the closing session of the Forum, Chair of the OSCE PA Network of Young Parliamentarians David Stögmüller emphasized the commitment to amplify the voices of young people. “This forum stands as an exemplary model showcasing the critical engagement of parliamentarians with the youth,” said Stögmüller. “The recommendations developed today will be presented to our Assembly, and concrete measures will be taken to incorporate them into our policy framework.”
