International election observers in Russia to hold press conference on Monday

MOSCOW, 16 March 2018 – The international observers for the presidential election in the Russian Federation will present their preliminary post-election statement at a news conference on Monday, 19 March, in Moscow.

The mission is a joint undertaking of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA).

The statement will be delivered by Michael Georg Link, Special Co-ordinator and leader of the short-term OSCE observer mission, Marrietta Tidei, Head of the OSCE PA delegation, and Ambassador Jan Petersen, Head of the ODIHR long-term election observation mission.

The International Election Observation Mission comprises 583 observers from 44 countries, including 482 long-term and short-term observers deployed by ODIHR and 101 parliamentarians and staff from the OSCE PA.

Journalists are invited to attend the news conference on Monday, 19 March, at 15:00 in the Moskovskaya Room of the Hotel National, Mokhovaya 15/1, Moscow.
