COPENHAGEN, 22 January 2020 – The OSCE PA Special Rapporteur on Digital Agenda, Stefana Miladinovic, concluded today a three-day visit to Denmark, intended to explore and study the country’s digital strategies and action plans.
Miladinovic (MP, Serbia) held meetings with Christoffer Aagaard Melson who serves as his party’s spokesperson on IT and telecommunications in the Danish Parliament, as well as with officials from the Danish Agency for Digitisation, the Confederation of Danish Industry, Copenhagen City Hall administration and at the Danish Parliament.

Discussions focused on Denmark’s digital path over recent decades and efforts to provide more efficient digital solutions and services for the citizens. Officials outlined the strategies implemented by the government, local administration and the private sector that have led to the digitalization of the public sector.
Exchanges also touched upon future challenges, in particular digital security, data protection and the need to safeguard the widespread confidence and trust in the public sector, vital for future digital developments.
“Denmark continues to be a digital frontrunner, making it a role model for other countries,” said Miladinovic. She continued: “While we must remain mindful of potential threats and continue efforts to strengthen our common efforts to mitigate security risks, it is clear that digital transformation is having a positive impact not only on business and trade but also on the individual and society as a whole. Denmark is teaching us that digitalization is unavoidable, and I am eager to continue working on facilitating co-operation and discussions among parliamentarians internationally aimed at increasing awareness and information exchange.”
As part of her visit to Copenhagen, Special Rapporteur Miladinovic also held bilateral meetings with OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella and Serbian Ambassador to Denmark Jasmina Mitrovic-Maric.
